Whatever about Bernadette, the real star of the show here is Semple’s satirical description of “woke” Seattle life – particularly life at, in, around, or related to anyone who works at Microsoft 😂.
A cast of characters lends their voices to piece together the mystery of exactly where eccentric Bernadette – acclaimed architect and mother to Bee – did go.
Special mention goes to the character of highly-strung, alpha-school-mom Audrey Griffin. To be honest, I’d happily read 100 more pages of Semple’s Seattle send-up for amusement alone; regardless of whether or not we found out where Bernadette goes.
